The importance of socialising

Many people believe that raising a puppy begins when it arrives in its new home. As a breeder, I know that a puppy's journey starts much earlier.

The most important socialisation period begins around 3 weeks of age and continues until approximately 12–16 weeks. During this time, puppies learn what is normal, safe, and enjoyable in their environment. As breeders, we work hard to provide a wide variety of positive experiences. Our puppies are gradually introduced to:

• Different surfaces and textures

• Everyday household sounds

• New objects and environments

• Gentle handling and grooming routines

• Car travel

• People of different ages and appearances

• Friendly, stable adult dogs

• I also present lots of other objects to the puppies, for example: bicycle, scooters, skateboards, umbrellas etc.

Everything is introduced positively and at the puppy's own pace. Our goal is not simply to expose them to the world, but to help them build confidence while feeling safe and supported.

Continuing the Journey in their New homes when our puppies leave for their new families at around 8 weeks of age, their socialisation journey is far from over. in fact, this is where their new owners play a vital role in continuing the socialising helping their puppy develop into a confident, mentally balanced and well adjusted adult dog. We encourage every family to continue introducing their puppy to new experiences in a positive and thoughtful way, because we do not simply breed puppies we raise future family members, companions, sport dogs, and loyal friends. The work we put into our puppies during their earliest weeks of life, together with the commitment of their new families, helps create dogs that are, Confident, emotionally stable and resilient to life's challenges.
